Falcon Chopper

Here it is, Zephyr's helicopter:

  • Body-- 7
  • Flight - 7

Orginally dropped off by Mantis and Bane at Alert Force Mansion in Malibu, Zephyr laid claim to the vehicle. She took it to a friend and had it repainted to midnight blue with stars on the rear quarter and tail, but it looks like it might need repainting again. Eventually, it will be marked with the stylized wings that can be seen on Zephyr's journal-- golden, on cobalt metallic blue. It has the latest in navigation, GPS equipped, search light, and rescue equipment. It's kept at the helipad at Alert Force mansion (which was recently enlarged to accomodate VTL craft as well as helicopters) fueled, and ready to go.

The Aeryrie

Zephyr realized after a while that with all that was going on, and since she was in Pittsburgh, it would be a good idea to have her own special place to work from... the apartment near the airport wasn't the best place to leap into the sky from. So, with help from a co-worker named Joe Hicks, Gale had the Aeryrie built on a remote mountain top to the west of the City.

It was not an easy drive, but easily accessible from the air. It was a basic tower shape, and was large enough on the roof to land a small helicopter. The computer systems were fairly standard, though the security systems were sophisticated.

It became a retreat for Zephyr, and a place where she could work on research, and practice her powers. At present, even though she is not currently in Pittsburgh, it remains a base of operations for the Air Goddess.

Origin story

Gale Tremont, known now as "Zephyr," was adopted. For a long time, she did not know her origins, or where she was from. Her adoptive parents told her nothing. Only after her father passed away, and Zephyr's adoptive mother lost her mental faculties to Alzheimer's disease (she is currently in a nursing home that Gale pays for), did she begin to yearn for knowledge of her past. Her parents were aware, of course, and told Gale to hide her gifts so she wasn't ridiculed or persecuted. Although the full extent of them manifested during puberty, she had been gifted with powers to some extent all her life. She had a few "incidents" but was largely able to hide her powers and lived a relatively normal childhood. She never really tried to use her gifts to their fullest extent, although she had a good gut feeling of how far she could go. She indulged herself in fantasies of "breaking out" of normalcy from time to time, by secretly training herself in archery and handling various small weapons, becoming a marksman and in taking advanced martial arts courses. Given her adoptive father's family's history in the military, Gale got a scholarship through the ROTC in college, her major being meterology and associated applied sciences. After college, she did her required stint in the Air Force, becoming an exceptional pilot. Her missions never had problems with weather, and always were able to come home safely (the use of her abilities in regards to the atmosphere which she covered by her college degree in/and interest in meteorology). She was promoted to captain, finished her tour in the Pacific Rim, and was given an honorable discharge at 24. Gale got a job with the National Weather Service, and got her private pilot's license and commercial pilot's license, and was taking graduate courses in applied meterology and research methodology when things began happening in Pittsburgh....

Gale found herself, for the first time, flying around at night, and after seeing some robberies, taking an active stance against crime, and obtained a vital piece of evidence that led to the capture of AM and PM from the Eighties Gang. This also led her to developing her relationship with the Pittsburgh police chief, Van Kirk. Through this relationship, Zephyr's sense of responsibility to the common person beset by supers or other criminals grew....

Gale began to have dreams, of flying over green, verdant valleys, filled with shining white marble structures. Aqueducts flow with brillant water in her dreams, and people are laughing-- but the dreams always turned dark, shot through with lances of fire, and screams. Suspecting that these dreams might be clues to her past, and where her powers came from, Gale searches for more information.

ZEPHYR AND SNOW ANGEL
